riding a cab

I used to ride a taxi cab wherever I go. Its convinient and comfortable. However, it contributes to pollutants in the air. My resolve is, walk or use public transport whenever possible ( if weather is ok). It was hard at first, its hot and humid. So I adjusted the time that I would need to leave and move around. (between 5-7 in the evening). It was cooler and still early, people are still on the streets. you get to see your environment as it really is. Walking around gives me more ideas for projects to make things here better.

Pet bottles

I realized that I was always buying beverages in pet bottles. So I decided to bring my own water. I fill a third of my drinking bottle and put it inside the freezer overnight. Before I leave in the morning, I fill it with water. I lessened my pet bottle waste and sugar/calorie intake. I lost 3 lbs. in almost 2 weeks! I also saved money. Everything is just great!

Utah Valley Cohousing Community

The Utah Valley Cohousing Community, to be located south of Salt Lake City and within commuting distance of Utah Valley State College and Brigham Young University, welcomes participation by individuals and families interested in: co-housing, eco-village development, and sustainable living in general. The UVCC has no religious or political affiliation. Everyone is welcome. At present we are early in the planning stage, and no site has been selected. The list will serve as forum for discussion, leading (it is hoped) to practical expression in the form of eco-village and/or co-housing development in or near Provo, Utah. Our models are Eco-Village at Ithaca (http://www.ecovillage.ithaca.ny.us/), Champlain Valley Co-Housing (http://www.champlainvalleycohousing.org), the Wasatch Commons (http://www.econ.utah.edu/~ehrbar/coho/index.htm), and Earthsong Eco-Neighborhood (http://www.earthsong.org.nz), suitably modified to local conditions.
