Meaningless and Horrible Deaths

Each year, malaria afflicts approximately a half-billion people (roughly the population of the United States, Canada, and Mexico combined).

Malaria kills more than a million people per year; 90 percent of those who die are African children.

Every 30 seconds in Africa a child dies of malaria.

There are 10 new cases of malaria every second.

Malaria incapacitates people, keeping countries poor. In addition to the health burden, malaria illness and death cost Africa about $12 billion per year.

I found information about malaria and its terrible consequences, when I was looking for where and how can I help the earthquake victims in Haiti. It so astonished me that I could not calm down a long time. Clearly, the population of people die each day from diseases, accidents, from old age, this is natural, we cannot stop it. But when millions of people, and above all children, dying meaningless, simply because they do not receive a basic assistance-it's really SHOCKING! Unlike many serious diseases, malaria is both preventable and treatable, making all deaths from malaria completely unnecessary! For comparison - each day 3,000 people dies from malaria, a Haitian earthquake killed about 200,000. That is- each day takes a small earthquake. We cannot change the nature and to protect against earthquakes, but we can stop the senseless deaths from malaria, which requires only small for each of our help. Failing African children are the same as see the children playing on the motorway and to keep on going!
“The whole world is not worthy of the child's tears”
- Fiodor Dostoevsky

How can we stop this deathly process? Prevention is achieved through:
- the use of bednets, preferably treated with an insecticide
- removing areas of water where mosquitoes breed
- house spraying with insecticide
- educating people as to the value of all of these actions to help prevent malaria
- and monitoring mosquito populations to understand which insecticides they are sensitive to
All these tactics dramatically reduce incidents of malaria. Nets are a simple, life-saving solution, but it needs our help to provide them to those in need.

When I found this incredible information, I thought about it all night and in a morning I found a solution how I can help save children from malaria deathly. I was in the process of creating the site Vitamins and Supplements and decided- £ 1 (what is in average approximately 40% of my income and approximately 60% of my profit) from every purchase made by this site will be transferred to the Nothing But Nets, founded by the United Nations Foundation. Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to raise awareness and funding to combat malaria, one of the largest killers of children in Africa and provides everyone the opportunity to join the global fight against malaria by sending a net and saving a life.
I call everyone to join my initiative! If not me, then who? If not now, then when? Together, we can cover poor kids with life-saving bed nets!
How?

Buy vitamins, minerals and supplements on the Vitamins and Supplements website! Improve you wellness as well as protect poor families from malaria.

Join our team on www.nothingbutnets.net Save Our Souls , donate to charity and invite everybody else to do the same.
For all websites and blogs owners – no matter how tight your income is, make donations on a fixed rate for each transaction made. Join our communities and help everyone each other to promote their initiatives! My goal is very simple-to assemble the blog’s and site’s
owners to a community where they come together on a simple idea- If not
me, then who? If not now, then when?

Provide help at no cost:

Join our communities on LiveJournal, Ning, Facebook. Place communities links and banners in your sites and blogs, invite all your friends to do same.

Each your step will save a few lives, think about it! You must understand, that every penny it’s very important. Although it may not sound like much, the cost makes them out of reach for most people at risk of malaria, many of whom survive on less than $1 a day.</strong>My goal is very simple-to assemble the blog’s and site’s
owners to a community where they come together on a simple idea- If not
me, then who? If not now, then when? Together, helping each other, we
can cover poor kids!

10. Opt for small-oven or stove-top cooking when preparing small meals.

14. Use moderate amounts of biodegradable detergent - https://www.shaklee.net/earthlygreen/product/GetCleanLaundry
17. Instead of ironing, hang clothes in the bathroom while showering.

18. Take quick showers instead of baths.

19. Install water-efficient showerheads and sink-faucet aerators.

20. Install an air-assisted or composting toilet.

21. Collect rainwater and gray-water for gardening use.

26. Start separating out your newspaper, other paper, glass, aluminum, and food wastes.

27. Encourage your local recycling center or program to start accepting plastic.

28. Urge local officials to begin roadside pickup of recyclables and hazardous wastes.

29. Encourage friends, neighbors, businesses, local organizations to recycle and sponsor recycling efforts.

30. Use recycled products, especially paper.

31. Re-use envelopes, jars, paper bags, scrap paper, etc - https://www.shaklee.net/earthlygreen/product/50443

36. Urge fast-food chains to use recyclable packaging.

37. Avoid using anything made of plastic foam. It is often made from CFCs, and it never biodegrades.

38. If your car gets less than 35 mpg, sell it, buy a small fuel-efficient model, and spend whatever money you save on home energy efficiency.

39. Maintain and tune up your vehicle regularly for maximum gas mileage.

40. Join a car pool or use public transport to commute.

41. Write to automobile manufacturers to let them know that you intend to buy the most fuel efficient car on the road.

42. Reduce your use of air conditioning & use an air purification system - https://www.shaklee.net/earthlygreen/prodAir

43. Encourage auto centers to install CFC recycling equipment for auto air conditioners. Freon is released during servicing to become both a greenhouse gas and an ozone layer destroyer.

44. Remove unnecessary articles from your car. Each 100 lbs. of weight decreases fuel efficiency by 1%.

48. Enjoy sports and recreational activities that use your muscles rather than gasoline and electricity.

55. Write to computer chip manufacturers and urge them to stop using CFC-113 as a solvent.

56. Invest your money in environmentally and socially conscious businesses. - https://www.shaklee.net/earthlygreen/distFastStart

57. Avoid rainforest products, and inform the supplier or manufacturer of your concerns.

58. Use postcards instead of letters for short messages.

73. Go on a citizen diplomacy trip and talk with those you meet about averting global climate change.

74. Get involved in local tree-planting programs. Shakee will plant five trees for every Gold Ambassador program -https://www.shaklee.net/earthlygreen/distFastStart

Shaklee is the first company in the world to be Climate Neutral; certified to fully offset its Co2 emissions, resulting in a net-zero impact on the environment.

Also Shaklee is one of three companies profiled in the U.S. Enviromental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders Advertorial - http://www.earthlygreen.org/library/climate_leader_advertorial_jan07.pdf

75. Join an environmental organization. If they're not involved with climate change, get them involved.

76. Support zero population growth.

77. Support work to alleviate poverty. Poverty causes deforestation and other environmental problems.

78. Donate money to environmental organizations.

79. Support programs that aim to save rainforest areas.
90. Strive to establish good communications with friends, neighbors and family including learning conflict resolution skills.

91. Spend time seeing, hearing, and rejoicing in the beauty of the Earth. Feel your love for the Earth. Make serving the Earth your first priority.
Are You Living in a Toxic Home?

Living in a Toxic Home

- 75,000 new chemicals have been introduced in the last 50 years.

- An average home generates 25 pounds of toxic, hazardous waste each year, most of which comes from household cleaning products.

- EPA studies indicate that elevated concentration of household chemicals persists in the air. Some are suspected of causing or are known to case cancer in humans.

The Dangers of Bleach Fumes:

Did you know about some of the dangers of bleach fumes:

* Chlorine is the chemical most frequently involved in household
poisonings and is a potent pollutant. Chlorine fumes from household cleaners are toxic and can affect the central nervous system.

* Ammonia fumes from household cleaners are toxic and can irritate skin,
eyes, throat, and respiratory system.

* Fumes and gases from chemicals in household cleaners, kitchen cleaners, laundry cleaners and fabric softeners are often toxic, and can be a cause of skin irritations, asthma, allergies, and respiratory problems. Some fumes and gases you can smell, but many are invisible to the human senses and you don't even know they are present in the air that you and your family are breathing. These invisible toxins are often referred to as the "silent killers".

* According to a 15-year study presented at the Toronto Indoor Air
Conference, women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than those who work away from home. The study concluded that this was a direct result of the increased exposure to toxic chemicals, many of which are found in common household products.

Why would anyone knowingly submit themselves to toxic fumes and gases in their home, caused by their cleaning products, if they knew they didn't have to?

What if you knew there were products which have been clinically proven to work as effective or better then your commercial industrial and home cleaners and are totally safe to you, your family, your pets, and our environment? Would it be time to switch brands?

It's time to Get Green and Stay Clean!

https://www.shaklee.net/earthlygreen/gc_getstarted1

Earthly Green: Beyond Organic

Earthly Green: Beyond Organic

We, here at Earthly Green, an independent distributor of Shaklee, would like to take the time to share with you a line of natural cleaning products, which are biodegradable and non-toxic to you and our Earth’s environment (our 64oz is Green Seal Certified). These products are not only safe for you, your family, and our planet. Furthermore, these cleaning products offer concentrated power that is cost-efficient. Our Get Green household cleaning products offer concentrated, nontoxic, biodegradable cleaning that use less packaging and less product than other conventional cleaners. These products eschew toxic substances like chlorine, ammonia, phosphates and formaldehyde, Get Green is instead powered by natural enzymes and sustainable-derived ingredients, and are never tested on animals. This line of cleaning products, by Shaklee, is not only cost-efficient but has been clinical proven to be as effective, if not better, then most commercial brand-name cleaning products. In the long run, these products not only save money, they also help avoid the toxicity found in common household products and contribute to leaving a small “footprint” on the Earth.

About Shaklee: Shaklee Corporation was the FIRST Company to be certified “Climate Neutral” by offsetting its carbon emissions. Inspired by the visionary works of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Wangari Maathai and her Green Belt Movement, Shaklee began a tree-planting campaign across the United States and Canada in April 2006, encouraging the company's 700,000 Distributors to organize tree-planting events at the grass roots level in their respective communities.

Why Go Green?: When you use Get Green, -- you're never simply cleaning. While you make your customer’s home cleaner, you make their family healthier. You also make the planet healthier for other families as well. Smart for Your Wallet: The Get Green Starter Kit replaces 830 bottles or boxes of conventional ready-to-use cleaning products you use in your house, kitchen, and laundry. You’d have to shell out more then $3400 (as in three thousand, four-hundred buckaroos) at the grocery store to get the same amount of cleaning you get in our Get Green Starter Kit - $3400 of equivalent cleaning power. The product instructions recommends using just 1-2 drops of their Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate per 16 oz. of water to clean windows and mirrors, or just a 1/4 teaspoon per 16 oz. for general cleaning duties, so a little goes a long way

Smart for You: Includes all the products and cleaning tools you need to start cleaning your way to a healthier home, business, school, and Earth. Smart for the Planet: When you purchase the Get Green Starter Kit instead of ready-to-use products, you're helping reduce over 100 pounds of packaging waste from landfills and eliminating 248 pounds of greenhouse gases – this is the environmental equivalent of planting 10 trees.
