Brie Anne Schwartz Leads DC 11th Hour Action Group

Brie Anne Schwartz of BE, LLC

Hoping to encourage others to "go green", I created the DC 11th Hour Action Group a month before The 11th Hour movie was launched to the public. The DC 11th Hour group is one of largest 11th Hour groups and is very active (please join us: www.11thhour.meetup.com/2 <http://www.11thhour.meetup.com/2> ). So far we co-hosted a workshop entitled "Global Consciousness" along with the DC Sierra Club, Howard University, and Budokon International. We are now creating a website that covers all the hot-topics from the 11th Hour movie. The mission of our website is to empower the Washington DC Metropolitan Area population to reduce their impact on the environment, through changing living habits at home, work, and the general community.

While we are working on the website, our other projects are:
-a lecture series with follow up action steps
-writing a bill against the use of plastic bags
-earth day preparations and events
-advertising and educating at gardening/hardware stores

Some of the DC 11th Hour Action Group members are working on side projects:
-internet television show (in which they are looking for possible shows, please contact us if you have some ideas and would like to have your own show)
-developing a scientific website to explain typical environmental FAQs

Outside of the DC 11th Hour Action Group, I am creating newsletters for my community to educate/empower their choices of consumerism. These newsletters include coupons for local green stores as an initial incentive to get the community to act now, instead of later. I also have my own company, BE, and it's focus is to encourage conscious living.

The choices we make in life affect our bodies, environment, and community. It is critical for us to be conscious of our thoughts, because our consciousness constitutes our reality. Change starts with one person, our-self.
