DO YOUR PART

Description:

I am a member of Freecycle Preston County and Monongalia County Freecycle, it is a website that you can use to offer things to others for free, so it doesn't end up in a landfill. Most big cities have a chapter in their area, so it would be great for you to find one to join and keep alot more things out of our landfills. Go to Yahoo groups and sign up today for one in your area!!  Ones trash is anothers treasure. You can offer anything of no use to you anymore.

I sell on Ebay, so things I can no longer use go to another person and not in the trash.

I am in the process of changing all of my lightbulbs in our home to the ones that use less energy. This is a very easy step all of us can take to help out !!

GREEN TOWNS INITIATIVES

Status:
In Progress
Description:

A group of four dedicated women forming an organization derived from Columbia County Green Towns Initiatives to GREEN the village of Chatham NY.

The whole process will be documented, filmed and published as a blue/green print for other small villages and towns across the Northeast USA.

Our first mission will be to apply for a grant to do an extensive energy audit of Main Street Chatham which has approx. 20 buildings, go through the process of contacting owners and vendors, government licenses and NYSEG our electric company. The object is to put solar pannels on top of all the roofs on Main Street. Once the audit is done and we know what we are dealing with, we will go for a larger grant to get this done.

We anticipate working on this first stage of audit and solar roof in our first year, for this action we will rent an office on Main Street where we can meet and set up the blueprint work that we are envisioning.

We, here at Earthly Green, an independent distributor of Shaklee, would like to take the time to share with you a line of natural cleaning products, which are biodegradable and non-toxic to you and our Earth’s environment (our 64oz is Green Seal Certified). These products are not only safe for you, your family, and our planet. Furthermore, these cleaning products offer concentrated power that is cost-efficient.    Shaklee’s Get Clean household cleaning products offer concentrated, nontoxic, biodegradable cleaning that use less packaging and less product than other conventional cleaners. These products eschew toxic substances like chlorine, ammonia, phosphates and formaldehyde, Get Clean is instead powered by natural enzymes and sustainable-derived ingredients, and are never tested on animals. This line of cleaning products, by Shaklee, is not only cost-efficient but has been clinical proven to be as effective, if not better, then most commercial brand-name cleaning products. In the long run, these products not only save money, they also help avoid the toxicity found in common household products and contribute to leaving a small “footprint” on the Earth.    About Shaklee: Shaklee Corporation was the FIRST Company to be certified “Climate Neutral” by offsetting its carbon emissions. Inspired by the visionary works of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dr. Wangari Maathai and her Green Belt Movement, Shaklee began a tree-planting campaign across the United States and Canada in April 2006, encouraging the company's 700,000 Distributors to organize tree-planting events at the grass roots level in their respective communities.    Why Go Green?: When you use Get Clean, -- you're never simply cleaning. While you make your customer’s home cleaner, you make their family healthier. You also make the planet healthier for other families as well.    Smart for Your Wallet The Get Clean Starter Kit replaces 830 bottles or boxes of conventional ready-to-use cleaning products you use in your house, kitchen, and laundry. You’d have to shell out more then $3400 (as in three thousand, four-hundred buckaroos) at the grocery store to get the same amount of cleaning you get in our Get Clean Starter Kit - $3400 of equivalent cleaning power. The product instructions recommends using just 1-2 drops of their Basic H2  Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate  per 16 oz. of water to clean windows and mirrors, or just a 1/4 teaspoon per 16 oz. for general cleaning duties, so a little goes a long way  Smart for You Includes all the products and cleaning tools you need to start cleaning your way to a healthier home, business, school, and Earth.  Smart for the Planet: When you purchase the Get Clean Starter Kit instead of ready-to-use products, you're helping reduce over 100 pounds of packaging waste from landfills and eliminating 248 pounds of greenhouse gases – this is the environmental equivalent of planting 10 trees.  SAFE FOR THE PLANET
