Description:
It's been a while, since I started thinking about the environmental issues of nowadays' society. I've been watching different movies on the subject, reading articles, researching basically. I just watched "The 11th Hour". Now I am certain that's it's about time we all started doing something to help saving our future.
In 20 years' time I want to simply look outside the window and see green grass and trees, and birds, and flowers. I want to be able to drink fresh water. Now I look outside my window and I see ...more buildings. Two years ago there was a green park on that place. Now it's the next ugly concrede building.
Yesterday, when I went outside to throw out the garbage I saw trash everywhere. And it's always like that. When I talk to people about these issues, especially people my age, they always say stuff like "It's not my problem", "How do you expect to change the world on your own". I'm 18. I realise I cannot change the world by myself. But we have to start from somewhere first.
The problem is not in one or two people. Our society is sick. It is ignorant of the facts and refuse to believe that our current behavior is slowly but surely destroying the Earth. These thoughts led me to the 11th hour action. I am going to try to change. Not only myself but all the people around me. I understand that this cause is of high importancy for the whole world.
It's just that not everybody knows that yet...
